Brad did an amazing job capturing our walk!! It is rare that Germany has been warm up until this week. We tried to take advantage and soak up the last of fall before winter hits tomorrow. We didn't get much fall foliage back in Oklahoma so we really have been enjoying the foliage here.
The other couple that joined us just moved here in August as well. Sean's wife, Thersea, just happens to also be pregnant and ironically, we have the same due date. She is having a a girl though. I guess our babies are going to be buddies!
We continued our journey and saw many kayakers traveling down the rapids. We weren't sure if there was a kayaking competition but it was interesting to watch them.
Of course, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to pose with my honey!!!
We walked further and decide to hike up these steps to the top of the hill. I ventured up first then stopped for a photo!!! Well, I think I stopped because I was getting short of breath, but regardless I posed for Brad. These trails were really amazing!! Wish dad was here to enjoy them with us!!!
After we completed the steps, we decided to call it a day and head home. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and can't wait to do it again. Unfortunately, I think our warm weather is finished for the year as starting tomorrow it will be in the 40's. We are expecting snow next week. We are lucky to have a fireplace in this house and will get it serviced this weekend. Our landlords have asked Brad to come help chop wood, which will be a first for him. I am working or more like volunteering at the Eifel Bazaar all weekend. It is an event that is put on by the Officer's Civilians and Spouses Club. I am on the board and a co-chair in the kitchen. It is similar to Affair of the Heart back at home. We have over 100 vendors and 350 volunteers to help make this event a success. It is our annual fundraiser and last year brought in close to $80,000 for our organization. Today, we worked on setting up and there is some amazing vendors at this event. I wish we could buy everything. I have no doubt by the time we come back to the states I will have a houseful of German furniture and antiques. I am looking forward to shopping this weekend and experiencing my first Germany Bazaar!!
