Preston's Baby Shower

Last weekend, we got to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Preston Dvorak with our military family.  We have a wonderful military family overseas and I was fortunate that 2 of the wives were so gracious enough to take the time to give us a baby shower.  Here is our sweet invitations.

We decided to have a couple's baby shower on a cold, wintery Saturday afternoon.  My good friends Suk & Elana planned the party perfectly and served up Brad and I's favorite food, Mexican.  We don't have access to any mexican restaurants around here so we are always craving that type of food.  Suk's house was decorated perfectly and couldn't have been better.  See all the wonderful photos below.

There was also a delicious candy bar completed with the beautiful cake!!  Elana's sister, Erica designed and made the cake from scratch.  She is quite talented!!! It was wonderful!!

Before we dived into this delicious-ness, we had to get the party started with some games.  Debbie Robertson, another military spouse, came up with some creative games.  The first game was to make a baby, rattle, and blocks with playdough.  Of course, since it was a couple's shower we were in teams.  We were given 3 minutes to complete our masterpiece then everyone voted.  Unfortunately, Brad and I did not win this one. :( It was fun trying though.

Here are some of the results!!

The next fun game we played was "Smelling of the diapers".  We had to determine what was in the diaper.  Debbie came up with this game as well and put various kinds of smashed candy bars into each diaper.  I definitely have not had a candy bar since the shower and don't for-see Preston having too many either until he is potty trained.

My other pregnant friend, Jamie, smelling away!!

Parveen and Todd were really into this!

Brad and Suk's husband, Joe are a little unsure here.
The games were fun and entertaining and gave everyone a good laugh.  We had a wonderful shower and couldn't be more excited to welcome this little man into our lives.  Brad and I have both taken baby classes the base has offered and for the time being, feel "ready".  I am sure that will change in the first 24 hours!!!  Thank you to all our wonderful friends and family for supporting us through this time and we can't wait to introduce the next little Dvorak into the family!!  Below are more photos from the shower!!!
